 The Darker Red lip - A red lip is always a classic - get in on the gothic trend for next season by making it darker then your usual shade. Accessorize with glowing skin!

How to get the look - Choose your red carefully. It has to be dark and sultry. I like Darkside, Diva, Russian Red and Rebel from MAC. All in various levels of finish and shade. Match a lipliner carefully and do invest in a good lip primer. The darker the lipstick - the harder you have to work to get it perfect. Pop a little lip primer onto the lips and around them. Let it sink into the skin for a few minutes before you add your lip liner. Draw the outline of the lip carefully starting from the outside in - doing it in this direction helps you avoid the sharp lines at the top of the mouth. Then shade in the lips using the pencil - this will help your lipstick to start put for longer. Add your lipstick on top and your done!

 Playtime - This look is all about having fun with your make-up. It's slightly gothic again because thats where fashion and beauty has gone this winter! Choose from messy liner, sharp liner, bright unusual colors such as red or baby blue liner, unusual nails and just have fun!

How to get the look -  Invest in bright colored eyeshadows to pop on with a strong liner - I love the color pay off from Barry M pigments and of course MAC. Stick on jewels can be bought from anywhere but I like the DIY element to this look - frequent craft and fabric shops to find tiny gems and strange things to glue. Use a glue which will let you remove the items safetly - Duo Adhesive is great for this. Be careful around the underneath of the eye - that hurts!
If your not into red eyeshadow, graphic liner or sticking things to your face - then why not try changing the color of your mascara - a la Stella McCartney? Her models all had purple lashes which were very defined. You can get purple mascara from MAC as part of the Beth Ditto limited edition collection or from Benefit.
