Bright Idea of the Week

I don't know about you, but I don't really have a lot of Christmas decorations. I add to my collection every year, but this is a good size house and I have a budget so I need me some filler. I have found some inexpensive Christmas solutions that I wanted to share with you, namely ribbon, candy and greenery.

Here I've used some ribbon and a little greenery to add a holiday touch to this stack of antique books.

I used it here to wrap my french doors that lead from the foyer to the study.

Ribbon is useful in making ordinary non holiday items festive like when tied around a candle holder.

Here I used inexpensive greenery, berries and ribbon to make decorations for my dining room chairs after seeing some faux boxwood wreaths in the Ballard Designs catalog that were too expensive.

These hurricanes are holding a pilar surrounded by peppermint candy. At times they have held shells, candy corn, and walnuts among other things.
